Rome,sweet Rome

Hi readers!

As I’ve promised…I’ll make a travel-journal about the places  I’ve been to.

This post is about our trip to Rome.

We celebrated our 5th anniversary this year…and we wanted to make it special.Soooo….we booked a flight to Rome..to celebrate it there.

Rome was on my bucket-list,my boyfriend has already been there…but for me,it was the first time to visit it.

AIRPLANE -WINDOW VIEW (FLY NIKI)

Rome is without any doubt ,one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Every year, millions of tourists come from around the world to admire the treasures and masterpieces of roman art and architecture. 

Unfortunately,we went to Rome at Easter time…so the city was full of tourists….but we didn’t mind,the only shitty thing was the 2-3 hours “queues” at every place of interest (Colloseum,The Vatican,The Angel Palace etc.)

Highlights:

The Colosseum: is a magnificent tourist attraction but you should definitely get a reservation ,so you won’t have to spend time queuing. It reduces queue time from 45 mins to just 5 or 10 minutes.The view is stunning

Easter Mass at the Vatican: Pope Francis celebrated his first Easter Mass this year.Even if you aren’t religious, there’s something uplighting and moving about being among the faithful on a major holiday.

The Pantheon: My favorite building in the world. Period. See it.

The Vatican Museum:is an unforgettable experience that requires strength and patience. You’ll need to be on top of your game to endure the inevitable queues – if not for a ticket ,then for the security checks – and enjoy what is undoubtedly one of the world’s greatest museum complexes.

You’ll never manage to explore the whole complex in one go – you’d need several hours just for the highlights .

THE INFINITY STAIRS

Advice:take the Sightseeing Tour Bus.It’s the best way to visit all the places…you can get off whenever you want to and you can buy a ticket for 3 days…so you won’t have to worry about the public transport.
