vacation in Austria : Minimundus & Wörthersee

Austria, the land of Mozart and waltz, is a medley of sparkling alpine lakes, majestic mountains, and elegant cities, with a rich cultural heritage and one of the highest living standards in the world. And while the capital steals the show with its imperial grandeur, world-class art, and alluring café culture, there’s much more to this small landlocked country than Vienna.

On our way back from Italy…we decided to spend a day in beautiful Carinthia….at lake Wörthersee.

It’s only 2 hours away from Italy and it’s WORTH SEEING ❤

We spend a few hours at MINIMUNDUS.

MINIMUNDUS:THEWHOLE WORLD IN ONE PLACE

Minimundus is a miniature world at Lake Wörthersee.

It’s a place to enjoy, stay a while, learn interesting things, have fun, see and experience.

The approximately 156 models of famous structures, trains and ships take visitors on a trip around the world in miniature format. Around the world in one day! Visiting the Sydney Opera House, strolling under the Eiffel Tower, taking a picture in front of the Taj Mahal, enjoying an ice cream in front of St Peter’s Basilica, admiring the Statue of Liberty, and many more things.

LAKE WÖRTHERSEE:

Wörthersee is one of the most beautiful lakes in Austria.

On the eastern side there is Klagenfurt.

The northern side of the lake has many beautiful 19th century villas and leads to Velden, tourist place with wonderful hotels. During winter times Velden is the jewel of the lake with it’s floating advent wreath made of thousand lights. Southern side of the lake is rich with little places with medieval churches. I recommend a cruise around the lake in the early summer time.

Austria does really have  a lot of beautiful spots. Can’t wait to discover them all!

Bisous,
